We are seeing the Chevrolet Traverse rolling on the roads for more than a couple of years, as the model series has entered the third year of its second generation. This crossover SUV model from Chevrolet has earned accolades from various corners for its rounded up abilities in every field that is now associated with the modern time vehicles.
The 2020 model year has already shown up in the major Chevrolet dealerships across the oceans, like the one we have seen at our nearby Palmdale Chevy dealer showroom. The dealerships are now boastful about this new edition of Chevrolet Traverse, as they can already see the crowd that visits their showroom only to take a look at this piece of automotive architecture that has everything caged within its solid frame that a large family can ask for. When we wanted to know what is in store for the 2020 model year of Chevrolet Traverse, the sales team beamed with pride to show us the following.
2020 Year Special Features
The 2020 year lineup of the Chevrolet Traverse continues in L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather and RS trims. The 2020 Traverse is continuing on with the same bunch of engine choices from the last year lineup of 2019. They are one 3.6-liter V6 engine and one turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder one. For this year, Chevrolet made some enhancement for its infotainment system by replacing the standard seven-inch touchscreen display with a bigger eight-inch screen that is well integrated with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto software but made available for the higher trims. All models will get 4G LTE and an available Wi-Fi hotspot.
Power and Drivetrain Configurations
For all the trim levels counting the L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, RS, the standard engine is the 3.6-liter V6 one paired to a 9-Speed Automatic transmission, while the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder one is offered as an option. All the trim models are configured with standard Front Wheel Drivetrain, while all-wheel drive is offered as an optional configuration for all the higher trims except the base L trim model.
Safety Equipment
The sales executives serving at the Palmdale Chevrolet dealership showroom informed us that with the 2020 version release, the Chevrolet Traverse lineup has become a yet more safety-oriented vehicle than ever before. Chevrolet has installed all the latest and advanced safety equipment on each trim offering them either as standard or available features depending upon the trim level you choose.
Some of the safety features can be added as separate packages as well. Among them, the most popular ones are rear cross-traffic alerts, blind-spot monitors, and rear park assist. There is also a Driver Confidence Package II that will enable features like forwarding collision alerts, low-speed automatic braking, lane keep assist in tune with lane departure warnings, intelligent headlights, a following distance indicator, and pedestrian detection.
As per the latest news, the 2020 model year of Chevrolet Traverse is facing plenty of competition from its rival brands, though in many standards this crossover SUV model of Chevrolet is able to leave them behind.
